Our Story

Daniel is a Founding Partner and CEO of MGMT Capital Partners with over 20 years of experience in the technology sector, having worked for some of the largest tech companies in the world.

He co-founded MGMT Energy (formerly GreenBlocks), the company's digital infrastructure operations arm. Daniel is Chairman of the Board at Viska Sjodir (formerly Viska Digital Assets) and serves as a board member at the Icelandic Blockchain Foundation.

Previously, Daniel worked as the Director of Blockchain Technologies at Advania Data Centers (now atNorth).

Daniel holds a diploma in business administration from University College Dublin.

Kristjan is a Founding Partner at MGMT Capital Partners and serves on the board of Viska Sjodir (formerly Viska Digital Assets).

He served as Managing Director of the Icelandic Blockchain Foundation and was awarded Developer of the Year for People's Choice at the Nordic Startup Awards. Kristjan took his startup to Silicon Valley and raised millions for his projects.

He has led multiple community projects and hosted developer conferences in Iceland. He currently leads the largest developer community in Iceland and co-founded a local grant fund for technology initiatives.

Kristjan sent his first Bitcoin transaction in early 2013 and is a sought-after speaker on technology and digital assets.

Jon is a Founding Partner at MGMT Capital Partners, co-founder of MGMT Energy (formerly GreenBlocks), and co-founder of Viska Sjodir (formerly Viska Digital Assets).

In 2018, alongside his studies, he worked at GAMMA Capital Management within alternative investments and corporate finance.

Jon served as an alternate board member of the Icelandic Blockchain Foundation from 2018-2019.

He holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Finance from Reykjavik University and an M.Sc. in Investment Management from Cass Business School in London, and is a certified securities broker in Iceland.

Tryggvi is the CFO of MGMT Capital Partners. He was previously CFO of Eskimos Iceland, a luxury travel group, for five years where he successfully navigated the company through the challenging COVID period.

Prior to that, he worked in the finance departments of Bakkavor Group USA.

Tryggvi holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration and Finance from Reykjavik University.

Gisli is a Principal at MGMT Capital Partners with over a decade of experience in financial analysis, economic research, and data-driven decision-making, with a strong focus on corporate performance, systems development, and operational execution.

Prior to joining MGMT, Gisli held senior roles at Statistics Iceland, where he led the development and publication of national corporate financial statistics, managed expert teams, and worked closely with international institutions including Eurostat and the OECD.

Gisli holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Iceland, an M.Sc. in Finance from Florida International University, and is a licensed securities broker in Iceland.

Egill leads all technical oversight for MGMT's compute operations in Iceland.

He manages day-to-day technical communications with operational partners, ensuring smooth information flow regarding system performance, uptime metrics, and resolution of technical issues.

Egill serves as the primary technical liaison between MGMT and its infrastructure partners.
